1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small file placed on your device (computer, mobile, tablet) when you visit a website. It allows the site, or a third party, to recognise your browser and store certain information about you or your browsing.
This cookies policy describes how we use cookies and trackers on hexceos.fr and its hexceos.ca mirror, in accordance with the GDPR and the current CNIL recommendations.
2. Our principle
We follow a simple principle — no advertising cookies, no third-party social network cookies, no marketing tracking pixels. No data is shared with Meta, Google Ads, LinkedIn Insight or any other advertising actor.
The only cookies deposited are those strictly necessary for the website to function and, for audience measurement, internal self-hosted cookies.
3. Cookies used
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Consent |
|---|---|---|---|
hx_locale | Language preference (fr/en) | 12 months | Exempt (user preference) |
hx_consent | Stores your choice on audience measurement | 6 months | Exempt (consent management) |
hx_session | Anonymised audience measurement (self-hosted in France) | 30 minutes | Collected if enabled |
Our audience measurement tool is self-hosted in our datacenter in France. It anonymises IPs by truncation and does not create user profiles. The CNIL considers this kind of measurement exempt from consent when strictly limited to audience measurement.
4. Third-party cookies
The website currently embeds no third-party service depositing cookies — no YouTube, no Vimeo, no embedded Google Maps, no third-party chat. If we add such a service in the future, you will be notified and explicit consent will be requested before any deposit.
5. How to set or refuse cookies
5.1 Via your browser
You can configure your browser to refuse all cookies or to be warned before they are deposited. Here are links to the main browser documentation:
Refusing cookies does not block access to the site but may affect your experience (loss of language preference, for example).
5.2 Via our consent banner
On your first visit, a banner lets you accept, refuse or set non-essential cookies. You can change your choice at any time by resetting your cookie preferences from the footer.
6. Retention duration
Maximum retention durations are listed in section 3. In line with CNIL recommendations, these durations are set at the shortest necessary for the pursued purpose and never exceed 13 months for audience measurement cookies.
7. Your rights
You can exercise your access, rectification, erasure and objection rights at any time by contacting our DPO at [email protected]. For the full list of your personal data rights, see our privacy policy.
8. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated in case of changes to our practices or to regulations. The update date appears at the top of the page. In case of substantial change, a new consent collection will be presented to you for concerned cookies.
